Inauguration of Amma's Washington DC Ashram

At Amma's request, Swamiji (Br. Dayamrita Chaitanya) and Rema Devi will inaugurate the Ashram with pujas, satsang and bhajans going on all day starting at 6:00AM

This particular day and time has been selected based upon the jyotish (astrological) auspicious time as selected by Prasannan, one of Amma's astrologers per Amma's request.

Schedule of Programs:

  • 6:00AM to 9:00AM: Puja and Homa/Havan:
    Maha Ganapathy, Navagraha, Tila, Karuka
  • 9:00AM to 11:00AM: Prasad distribution and breakfast/break
  • 11:00AM to 12:00PM: Om Namah Shivaya Chant
  • 12:00PM to 2:30PM: Ashram property tour, Lunch, Video of Satsangs by Amma
  • 2:30PM to 5:30PM: Special Program by Br. Dayamrita Chaitanya:
    Amma's PadaPuja and Chants, Talk by Swamiji, Bhajans (Devotional music) and Aarati
  • 6:00PM: A sumptuous Indian Dinner
Details of the Pujas:The Homams begin promptly at 6am. You can come later in the day, but if you are fortunate enough to be able to attend the Homams, please plan on arriving by 530am so you can get seated and settled before the Homams begin. It is better if we don't have a lot of disruption of people getting settled after the Homams begin. As the Homams involve a sacred fire and tomorrow will be windy, we will be having the Homams in the 4 car garage at the end of the driveway. You may be more comfortable if you bring a cushion or pad to sit on.

Karuka Homa
For the health and welfare of Amma's children.

Tila Homa
For departed souls, to be performed 45 days after death or later; for peace of one's ancestors and to receive the blessings of ancestors.

Ganapathy Homa
For positive vibrations in the house, when starting new ventures or generally to remove obstacles.

Navagraha Homa:
Puja for all planets Sun, Moon, Mercury, Mars, Venus, Saturn, Jupiter, Rahu and Ketu

Puja for EACH individual planet.
