Important Program Information
Parking: Parking at the hotel is free.
Seating and Clothing: Rows of chairs are available for use in the hall, however many people sit on the floor. The floor is carpeted, however we strongly recommend bringing a cushion or backjack for your comfort in floor seating. Since the hall is large with central air conditioning it is recommended that you bring a shawl, a light jacket or sweater.
Priority Seating: is available for families with children under the age of four, elderly people and individuals with limiting physical conditions. If you are in this category, contact one of the Priority seating monitors in the main hall.
Meal Service: Vegetarian meals are served in the Dinning Room (located outside the hall). Meals are purchased on a cash only basis.
Lunch is served from 12:30 pm until after the morning program ends.
Dinner is served after the Puja, on Devi Bhava
Snacks: Delicious Indian snacks and western bake goods (along with hot and cold drinks) are sold through out the day and night, just outside the program hall.
Seva Desk: Seva is a Sanskrit word meaning "service offered Selflessly, to God." As Amma sets this example for us we attempt to reflect Her teaching to others while performing service. Volunteers are always needed and welcomed; if you would like to help, simply visit the desk in the hall marked Seva.
Bathrooms: When exiting the hall, the bathrooms are located on either side of the hall.
Lost and Found: You can find lost items at the Washington DC Satsang Information Table in the hall.
Shoe Storage: Since shoes are not worn in the hall (which serves as Ammas temple during Her visit), please place your shoes outside the hall in areas designated for shoes or on the shoe racks. Shoes must be worn in all areas except the hall.
Appropriate Behavior: This facility is shared with other guests. As Amma's representatives it is essential that we conduct ourselves respectfully and courteously at all times. Therefore we ask all participants to maintain appropriate decorum in the program hall and refrain from using the parking lot as a campground. Parents are responsible for their children at all times.
Childrens Programs: There are areas designated for childrens activities. Check at the Local Information Table in the hall for room location and times:
Local Satsang Information Table: Located in the hall, this is the place to learn about the activities of the Greater Washington Amma Satsang and sign for the mailing list to receive satsang news.
All proceeds from the sale of bookstore items, meals and snacks are used to support Ammas humanitarian projects.
